Migraine

As discussed in my last column migraine is a condition in which sensations of pain, touch, sound, light and smell are all amplified. A certain percentage of the population have the genes that get turned on by certain triggers and cause some bizarre symptoms. Many people with migraine cannot even stand touch which is amplified to cause pain. The light has not changed and sound has not changed but the ways in which these sensations are processed by the brain have changed.
